In Japanese, there's a word that is absolutely wonderful. Ganbaru. In essence, it means to do beyond your best, melding luck and all-in effort. It was a bit of a samurai thing, and a word of encouragement to modern Japanese. Honestly though, you ought to google this one, there's pages and pages of nuanced meaning with it. But you get the jist.
Ganbaru is printed on the left chest in traditional Japanese vertical script, a subtle way to remind you that every day can be improved with better effort.
