The axolotl can regrow a leg, a tail, chunks of its heart, even parts of its brain, and it does all this while wearing the facial expression of someone being told very good news. It never really grows up, either — it just stays in its larval form forever, smiling, regenerating, thriving in one lake system near Mexico City.
